James Gunn reportedly hooked up to new Suicide Squad film
In a stunning growth for the increasingly-tumultuous profession of James Gunn, the writer-director of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy is leaping ship to DC Movies with a brand new Suicide Squad movie. This comes after Gunn was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after alt-right figures unearthed inappropriate and offensive previous tweets from Gunn, who’s reported to jot down and presumably direct this DC film.
The information comes from The Wrap—in response to the report, this proposed Suicide Squad film is not going to be a direct sequel to David Ayers’s 2016 Academy Award-winning try, however will moderately be a “fully new take” on the property. Whether or not this constitutes some kind of reboot, recasting, or simply some kind of standalone sequel is unclear at this level.
