New Rainbow Six Siege animated brief appears at Dokkaebi’s frustrations with the old-school
Like Blizzard’s Overwatch, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege has fairly deep lore and backstory to its roster of counter-terrorist heroes, regardless of the sport’s campaign-free idea. And, like Overwatch, mentioned lore is not overly-apparent to anybody who would not go particularly digging for it.
For instance, here’s a new animated mini-movie, printed this weekend as a part of the Six Invitational occasion. The Hammer and The Scalpel appears on the partnership between two of Rainbow’s high operators: British anti-electronics professional Thatcher and Korea’s promising younger laptop whiz Dokkaebi.
Within the brief, the ace hacker clashes together with her brutish, old-school senior throughout a coaching train; a conflict of kinds, tech and generations. Turning to Rainbow’s new “Six” (the bemusingly fashionable Harisva Pandey) for steering, Dokkaebi learns somewhat extra about Thatcher’s previous. To be trustworthy, the narrative right here would not actually resolve her downside although. Six is kinda saying “Hey, he is had a tough life so respect him being an asshole to you,” whereas additionally implying that Dokkaebi’s actual downside is that “she’s mad at herself” and never on the man who’s treating her like shit… ‘kay… bit ’90s, that.
Nonetheless, I like that these shorts are being produced, lending character and persona to Rainbow Six‘s staff of black-clad, gas-mask carrying heavies. Rainbow Six Siege is offered now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
